TESSY Tessy is an English Springer Spaniel. She was what we refer to as the miracle dog. Of course, I am known around town for my affection towards animals. Everyone knows who to call when an animal needs a rescue mission. I received a phone call one day from a man who was furious. He stated that he had a springer spaniel that he was going to shoot if someone didn't come get it within 10 minutes. I had no idea what the problem was so I immediately went to his house. Apparently the dog had been urinating on the floor and, in his opinion, this was grounds for the death penalty. I took the dog home, thinking that I would shelter her for a night and then take her to the pound in the morning. In the middle of the night, she wet on the floor, just as the cruel gentleman had accused her of. The first thing I noticed was the blood-tinged urine and figured she needed to see a vet first thing in the morning. To make a long story short, she was diagnosed with a serious urinary tract infection. I decided to keep her with us throughout the course of her antibiotics, since sometimes the pounds do not provide the best care for those types of things. Do you think that after 10 days of antibiotic therapy I could possibly part with a dog that had already proven herself worthy of a warm loving home???? NO WAY! Tessy has been with us now for about 4 years. She is approximately 9 years old and she is the most loveable, huggable, sweet dog.
Meet Trinket! Trinket is about 6 years old now. I had no intentions of getting another cat when the kids and I went out for dinner one night at a local drive-in diner. They were advertising free kittens, so we thought we would just take a look at them. This poor little kitty was all by herself, her brothers and sisters had all found homes. She was not the most adorable kitty I've ever seen, but she was so loving. We just couldn't leave her there to be lonely anymore so we took her home and let her share our family. |
