My biological father passed away when I was 5 years old. I have a few little memories of him, though they are very vague. I have heard a lot about him from my sister and other family members. He was a pastor and a very talented musician, playing every instrument as well as being an amazing singer. I can still vaguely remember him playing his guitar and singing in church every sunday. My mother informed me that when I turned 3 years old I sang my first song in church, accompanied by him on the guitar. Sometimes I feel deprived that I never really had a chance to get to know this man better before he was taken from us. Everyone tells me that I have a lot of his talent and that I have some of his looks. In fact, in comparing his childhood pictures with my son's pictures, my son is the spitting image of his grandpa. Out of remembrance of my father, I would like to share the only pictures I have of my real dad.

This is my second dad. This handsome man was able to steal my mother's heart a few years after the death of my biological dad. I started calling him "dad" shortly after the two of them started dating. This man has been so wonderful! He is responsible for what and who I am today and I could never repay him for everything he has done. I love him with all my heart and my children do as well. This is their "papa." This is papa at Matthew's first birthday party. Sitting beside him is a fellow fisherman and friend, Andrew Gove. Matthew insisted that if he had to wear one of those silly garfield hats that his papa should have to wear one too, so we we laid down the law!

This is nanna and papa with the kids in Florida. Needless to say, the kids have papa wrapped around their little fingers.
